TEA HOUSE / TOKYOBIKE HYBRID
A collaboration between Verve Coffee and Tokyobike, bridging leisurely bike/coffee culture from both sides of the Pacific. Inspired by Japanese tea house ritual, guests savor a ceremonial tea/coffee experience and engage in a curated bike exhibit.
CHECK IN LOUNGE
The Check In Lounge takes the human interaction with the staff to an elevated experience, where the guests sit down comfortably and learn how to navigate the neighborhood, the amenities of the hotel, and how to get to their room. Traditional counters are removed from the space to encourage a more casual guest experience.
The Elixir Bar is a reflection of Aesop’s alchemist attitude towards their products. Besides the typical bar area, there are little private spaces for guests to savor a more intimate setting. This idea is inspired by the refinement part of the concept. Backlit palm trees behind frosted glass are a representation of the location of Beverly Hills, where the streets are lined with them.
Reading a book requires focus and one’s full attention, which is part of an intimate and refined experience. This Library Lounge combines the idea of a curated design book library and a lounge where people can relax. When someone is waiting for a friend or simply just passing the time, they can immerse themselves in a collection of reading material.
In creating an experience surrounding the refinement of Aesop’s products, the bathroom is the main segment in the guestroom. Greeted at the end with a large view of Beverly Hills, the shower and bath experience is elevated. Products are displayed throughout as a touchpoint of the brand and its stores, catering to each guests skin type and needs. Electronically adjustable louvers allow the guest to customize their privacy and be part of the facade design that changes throughout the day.
