Hospitality Design — Boutique Hotel
A boutique hotel in Beverly Hills that focuses on the juxtaposition and harmony of raw and refined materialities and experiences. Inspired by Aesop’s celebration of science to provide quality wellness and skincare products through botanical and chemical methods, each guests experience is specifically curated to their needs.
CHECK-IN LOUNGE /
The Check-In Lounge takes the human interaction with the staff to an elevated experience, where the guests sit down comfortably and learn how to navigate the neighborhood, the amenities of the hotel, and how to get to their room. Traditional counters are removed from the space to further encourage a more casual yet refined guest experience.
ELIXIR BAR /
The hotel's bar area is a reflection of Aesop’s alchemist attitude towards their products. The space consists of not only the bar and tables, but also private nook spaces for guests to savor a more intimate setting, inspired by that contrast between raw and refined. The west wall is lined with back-lit palm trees against frosted glass as a nod to its Beverly Hills environment.
LIBRARY LOUNGE /
The Library Lounge combines the idea of a curated design book library and a lounge where people can relax. Inspired by Aesop's consistent integration and involvement in design and the arts, the reading material spans across the areas of architecture, photography, and pop culture. Guests can be fully immersed and intimate with a book or magazine while waiting or passing time.
In creating an experience surrounding the refinement of Aesop’s products, the bathroom is the main segment in the guestroom. Greeted at the end with a large view of Beverly Hills, the shower and bath experience is elevated. Products are displayed throughout as a touchpoint of the brand and its stores, catering to each guests skin type and needs. Electronically adjustable louvers allow the guest to customize their privacy and be part of the facade design that changes throughout the day.
GUESTROOM BATHROOM /
In creating an experience surrounding the refinement of Aesop’s products, the bathroom becomes the main segment in the guestroom, the grand finale if you will. Greeted at the end with a large view of Beverly Hills, the shower and bath experience is elevated to reflect the meticulous craft and precision that goes into the brand's bathing products.
These products are displayed on lit shelves upon arrival, catering to each guest's skin type and needs. Electronically adjustable louvers allow the guest to customize their privacy and be part of the facade design that transitions throughout the day.
